The Clown from Snowy River is a hilarious and groundbreaking show that will be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Its classic clowning at its best. Entertaining and thoroughly Australian.

Imagine six clowns... not one, not two, but six very funny clowns trying to stage the complete history of Australia, and there you have The Clown from Snowy River

Our MC is a Banjo Paterson style Swagman and he's a bit of try hard, wanabee star who is hopelessly upstaged by his troupe of clowns Shazza, Dazza, Shoota, Sprinta and Footies. Together they attempt to re-tell the defining chapters of Australian history- from Gallipoli to the Sydney Olympics- from Ned Kelly to Kylie Minogue.

Our clowns are a very talented bunch, they sing, dance and act their way through history. The Clowns travel with their amazing, colourful very Aussie circus tent that transforms into the myriad of places and times of Australia's greatest moments in history.

The Clown from Snowy River asks the big questions:  What is the Australian Identity?  What historical events define Australia? And what on earth is a movement at the station?

This funny, hilarious and often touching re-telling of Australian history has been loved by audiences Australia wide..

Produced by deBASE productions, especially for school audiences. The Clown from Snowy River was created in collaboration with teachers and students of Capalaba State College and with Kooemba Jdarra Indigenous Performing Arts.

Teachers and students will love this show. The Clown from Snowy River uses comedy and clowning to teach Australian children their own history.... without them even realising it.

Terrific education pack available, along with a special interactive DVD.

"Such a fun night at the theatre! Watching the faces of our Year 9 and 10 Drama students was a sheer delight. They loved the physicality the humour and the slapstick style of the production."  - Sue Lawson, Arts Coordinator Years 7 to 12, Villanova College, Qld, 2006
